Responder 101 is Guardian’s flagship two-week Armed Response development programme, designed to take an individual from the foundations of the armed response industry through to the practical skills and mindset required of a professional responder.
The course combines operator development, practical skills training and real-world scenario work, covering everything from grooming standards, professional conduct and client relations to firearms training, force-on-force scenarios, lone responder operations, de-escalation, arresting techniques, investigation, scene management and hand-to-hand combat.
Participants are also introduced to operational procedures, legal responsibilities, decision-making, communication, threat assessment and incident management, creating a comprehensive foundation for operating effectively in the armed response environment.
Responder 101 is not simply about teaching individual skills. It is about shaping capable, disciplined and adaptable responders who can think under pressure, make sound decisions and operate safely when things go wrong.
Two weeks. One foundation. Build the responder.
Our de-escalation training teaches you how to recognise, manage and reduce conflict before it becomes a physical confrontation. Participants learn practical communication, situational awareness, threat recognition, boundary setting and decision-making skills designed to help control tense situations while keeping themselves and others safe.
The goal is simple: prevent the fight before the fight starts.
Our three-level Scene Management Course develops the skills needed to safely and effectively manage incidents from the moment you arrive until the situation is resolved.
Participants progress through three levels of training, building their ability to assess scenes, identify risks, establish control, manage people and resources, preserve evidence, communicate effectively and coordinate with other responders.
The course is designed to develop calm, structured decision-making under pressure, whether dealing with a routine incident, a high-risk situation or a complex emergency.
Three levels. One objective: take control, manage the scene and protect lives.
Our three-level Arresting Techniques Course develops the practical skills required to safely and effectively manage, control and restrain individuals during an arrest.
Participants progress through three levels, building from fundamental control and restraint techniques to more advanced methods for managing resistance, heightened risk and dynamic situations.
The course focuses on legal awareness, control, communication, proportionality, officer safety and practical application, helping participants make sound decisions while reducing unnecessary risk to themselves, the subject and others.
Three levels. One objective: control the situation safely, lawfully and professionally.
Patroller 101 is Guardian’s foundational community patrol and security response programme, designed to take individuals from the basics of patrol operations through to the practical skills required to operate safely, confidently and professionally in a community environment.
The course covers patrol procedures, situational awareness, communication, observation, reporting, legal responsibilities, incident management, scene management, de-escalation, arresting techniques, basic self-defence, first responder principles and operational procedures.
Participants learn how to identify potential threats, manage incidents, communicate effectively with fellow patrollers and emergency services, and understand the limits of their legal authority and responsibilities.
Patroller 101 is about more than simply walking or driving a patrol. It is about developing disciplined, observant and capable patrollers who understand their role, know how to respond to incidents and can contribute meaningfully to the safety of their community.
Know your role. Read the situation. Respond with purpose.
Our Force-on-Force Training places participants in realistic, controlled scenario environments where they must make decisions and respond under pressure.
Using non-lethal training ammunition and controlled close-quarter scenarios, participants are tested on communication, situational awareness, decision-making, firearm handling, close-quarter engagement and hand-to-hand skills across a variety of environments and situations.
Train under pressure. Perform when it matters.
Citizen Tactical is designed for the law-abiding, armed citizen who chooses to be prepared rather than reactive.
The course focuses on practical tactical readiness for real-world situations, developing awareness, decision-making, defensive skills, firearm handling and the ability to respond appropriately when confronted with a threat.
Training is built around the realities of carrying a firearm in everyday life, including situational awareness, threat recognition, defensive decision-making, movement, communication, de-escalation and scenario-based training.
This is not about turning civilians into soldiers. It is about developing responsible, capable and prepared citizens who understand their equipment, their environment and their responsibilities when things go wrong.
Carry responsibly. Prepare deliberately. Respond decisively.
Our Firearms Coaching is designed to strengthen the fundamentals and turn good shooting habits into consistent performance.
Through individualised coaching, we focus on shooting fundamentals, firearm handling, sight alignment, trigger control, grip, stance and shot placement, identifying weaknesses and correcting them through practical drills.
Whether you are looking to get your shots on target, tighten your groupings, improve consistency or build confidence, coaching is tailored to your current ability and specific goals.
Build the fundamentals. Tighten the group. Shoot with purpose.
Pistol Craft is designed to refine the practical skills required to handle a handgun efficiently, safely and confidently.
The course focuses on efficient firearm handling, reloading, draw efficiency, workspace management, movement and practical manipulation, helping participants develop smoother and more consistent performance.
Through structured drills and repetition, we identify inefficiencies, strengthen fundamentals and build safe, deliberate and efficient handgun handling skills that can be applied under pressure.
Refine the skill. Eliminate wasted movement. Build efficiency.
Shotgun Craft is designed to build and refine the practical skills required to handle a shotgun safely, efficiently and confidently.
The course focuses on safe manipulation, loading and unloading, firearm handling, ready positions, movement, transitions and efficient operation, with an emphasis on developing consistency and sound fundamentals.
Through structured practical drills, participants work on eliminating unnecessary movement, improving handling efficiency and building the confidence to operate the shotgun effectively under pressure.
Master the platform. Refine the fundamentals. Build confidence.
SL Craft is designed to refine the practical skills required to operate a self-loading rifle safely, efficiently and confidently.
The course focuses on safe firearm handling, manipulation, loading and unloading, reload efficiency, workspace management, movement, transitions and platform familiarity, with an emphasis on building smooth, consistent and deliberate performance.
Through structured practical drills, participants work to eliminate unnecessary movement, strengthen fundamentals and improve their overall efficiency with the platform.
Know the platform. Refine the craft. Build efficiency.
Our Scenario-Based Training places participants in realistic, controlled situations designed to test more than technical skills. Participants are required to assess the situation, identify threats, communicate, make decisions and respond appropriately under pressure. Scenarios can incorporate firearms, de-escalation, movement, close-quarter engagement, arresting techniques, scene management and other practical skills.
Each scenario is followed by structured feedback and analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
Don't just train the skill. Train the decision.
Our Skills Development Training is designed to identify individual strengths and weaknesses, strengthen core abilities and develop greater consistency across a range of practical skills.
Training is tailored to the participant's current experience and objectives, with a focus on building fundamentals, correcting weaknesses, developing efficiency and progressing skills through structured practical training.
Whether improving firearm handling, defensive skills, communication, movement or decision-making, the goal is continuous development and measurable improvement.
Identify the weakness. Build the skill. Raise the standard.
Our Kids Firearm Safety programme teaches children age-appropriate, practical rules for staying safe around firearms.
The programme focuses on recognising firearms, understanding that they are not toys, what to do if they encounter one, and the importance of never touching, handling or playing with a firearm without a responsible adult present.
Through engaging and easy-to-understand instruction, children learn how to make safe decisions and respond appropriately with firearms around them.
See it. Stop. Don't touch. Tell an adult
After the Shot is designed to prepare armed citizens and responders for the critical period following a defensive shooting incident.
The course focuses on post-incident decision-making, immediate priorities, scene management, communication, interaction with emergency services and investigators, preservation of evidence, legal considerations and the wider consequences of a defensive shooting.
Participants gain an understanding of what may happen after the immediate threat has ended, helping them approach the aftermath calmly, responsibly and within the law.
The shooting may last seconds. The aftermath can last years.
Our Anti-Hijacking Training prepares participants for both sides of a vehicle hijacking scenario: preventing and responding to a hijacking, or surviving one when it happens to you.
The course covers situational awareness, threat recognition, preventative driving habits, decision-making under pressure, vehicle positioning, escape considerations, communication and post-incident response.
Participants work through realistic scenarios designed around two critical perspectives:
1. Responding to a Hijacking
Developing the skills and decision-making required when responding to an active hijacking or assisting someone who has been targeted.
2. Being Hijacked
Understanding how to recognise the developing threat, manage the situation, make sound decisions under extreme pressure and prioritise the safety of yourself and your passengers.
The objective is not simply to teach people how to react. It is to develop the awareness and judgement to recognise danger early, make the right decisions and survive the encounter.
See it coming. Know what to do. Get home.
